Ethylene Glycol
Performance：
Its flash point is 116℃, boiling point is 197.6℃, ignition point is 121℃. At normal temperature, it is a colorless, transparent, viscous liquid. It can be mutually dissolved with water, methanol, ethanol, amyl alcohol, phenol, glycerin and so on. It dissolves in ether alittle. With little poison, it smells sweet, and it is hygroscopic.
Application：
EG is mainly used in producing polyester, alkyl resin, cell liquor used in electrolytic capacitor, antifreeze, plasticizer, solvents and so on.
Package：
EG can be transported in galvanized iron drums or polyethylene plastic drums and tanks used in railway station. The containers should be sealed strictly. The containers must be cleaned and dried before using.
Transportation：
EG is hygroscopic, so during transportation, the containers should be sealed well. The viscosity of EG rises quickly with the decreasing of the temperature. So in winter, the insulation of the transportation facilities and piping should be considered.
Storage：
EG should be stored in the well ventilated warehouse where EG can be kept from direct exposure to the sun as well as heat source and kindling.
Safety：
Due to the toxicity of EG, the concentration of EG in the air of the operation area should be no more than 5mg/m3. The EG left on the ground or equipment should be flushed with water.
